Several oral complaints have been received from NMOs and School HMs that State Bank of India is taking away money from the Noon Meal Accounts of schools in the name of service charges or account maintenance charges. Further, there are instances reported wherin the bank is charging fee of Rs.150/- for issuing a printout of current account details. This cannot be accepted and goes virtually against the spirit and principle of Mid Day Meal Scheme

In these circumstances, all AEOs & NMOs are hereby directed to examine and verify the bank passbooks of schools under their jurisdiction and file a detailed statement of how much money has been taken away by the bank so far. The statement shall contain the name of the school, account number, amount taken away by the bank and date& year. 

 As this information is required urgently, AEOs & NMOs shall personally bestow their attention to this issue and submit the statement to this office via e-mail within a week positively. We cannot allow bank to loot the money meant for giving mid day meal to our children.

DDEs and Noon Feeding Supervisors shall coordinate the activities in this regard and get the statement submitted to DPI office within a week at the earliest.
